What to do about excessive sweating?

Sweating that exceeds the needs of the body–medically termed hyperhidrosis–is fairly common, affecting 1%–3% of the population. But with some few tips, you can reduce the ammount of sweat to an acceptable level.

We need sweating to control body temperature; water evaporating from the skin cools the body. Sweating is under the control of the sympathetic nervous system, which orchestrates the body’s reaction to stressful situations and emergencies.

Generalized sweating could be a sign of a hormonal condition, infection, cancer, or anxiety disorder that requires treatment.

Hyperhidrosis can be treated in several ways. Topical antiperspirants are the first-line treatment for underarm sweating and are also effective on hands and feet.

A procedure called iontophoresis has been used for more than 50 years to treat excessive sweating on the hands or feet, and more recently, in the underarm. Your hands or feet are submerged in lukewarm tap water for 10–20 minutes while a mild electric current is passed through the water.

Botulinum toxin (Botox) injections are FDA-approved for treating underarm hyperhidrosis. They have also been found effective for hands and feet and are the treatment of choice for marked hyperhidrosis.

Some doctors prescribe oral anticholinergic medications (drugs that reduce the activity of acetylcholine) to curb the sweat glands, but this approach is not approved by the FDA.

In severe cases, surgery can be performed to cut the sympathetic nerves to the sweat glands (sympathectomy). Also, take in mind that sweating can be caused due to periods of stress. Sometimes it is enough to take the stress away. That can be done with breathing excersises

There are lots of people who suffer from panic attacks and don’t know the curative ways of coping with panic attacks. They all know the terrifying stage of the panic attack though. Generally, the most common symptoms of an attack are dizziness, anxiety, body trembling, stress, heartbeat palpatations/racing, sweating, and the like. But coping with panic attacks can certainly be a Herculean task to say the least.

So here are 5 proven ways to assist you in coping with panic attacks:

1. Perform some Physical and Mental Exercise

It has been said that physical and mental exercise helps a lot in coping with panic attacks. You should take a walk and breathe fresh air in an open area like the park, which will help to reduce your stress level. And reducing stress is the first stage for coping with panic attacks. Following this technique alone can help you avoid anxiety, which is usually the main cause of panic attacks.

2. Keep your Mind and Body Well Relaxed

First of all, when you are stressed, take a break for a moment. Take a walk or indulge in some other things for a time. Maybe perform something enjoyable! You will then be able to give your body some much needed relaxation, and help keep your mind calm. Always perform deep breathing and stretching exercises too. This will go a long way when trying to cope with your panic attacks.

3. Miss Out On Alcohol and Caffeine!

Avoiding Alcohol and Caffeine from your routine is also another way to cope with panic attacks. While consuming alcohol, many think that it actually reduces your stress level and helps to relax you. But this is so far from the truth, it has been proved by medical science that alcohol actually makes panic attacks much worse. And the same applies to Caffeine. Caffeine is a stimulant, thus helping to increase the effects of panic and anxiety. It has also been proven that consumption of caffeine seriously enhances your chances of having panic attacks much more regularly. So avoid those temptations to avoid the demons of Anxiety and Panic.

4. Take Up A Healthy Diet

Taking up a healthy diet really helps you when coping with panic attacks. There is a saying that “A healthy body breeds a healthy mind” and it really works on the treatment of panic attacks. It is a fact that a healthy diet can also help you to reduce your stress level. Healthy diets make you stronger and obviously healthier, by which helping you to avoid panic attacks.

5. Plenty Of Shut Eye!

Tiredness and Fatigue can increase your chances of panic attacks and make them much more intense. It has been researched and proved that sleeping can reduce your stress. A person should generally have at least 7-8 hours sleep per night, and if you are adult, then try to incorporate a little bit more if possible. Not having enough sleep at night will increase your stress level, which may trigger panic attacks the next day.

Nothing is impossible- just a few precautionary measures can do wonders in coping with panic attacks.

Anxiety attack may affect your quality of life if not given treatment immediately.

As a human being, it is normal that we feel anxious, worried, and fears from time to time due to the things that our complicated lives bring. Anxiety is just a part of life. It helps us cope with the stresses we may encounter. If you are in a state of anxiety, it is likely that you experience anxiety attack.

Anxiety attack is a sudden surge of overwhelming fear that comes without warning and without any apparent reason and this would usually last for no more than 10 minutes. It is far more intense than having anxiety or the feeling of being stressed out. One in every 75 people worldwide will experience an anxiety attack at one point in his/her life.

Most anxiety sufferers report fear of dying, going crazy or losing control of emotions as well as behavior. The incidents generally provoke a strong urge to escape or run away from the place where the attack begins, and they are associated with chest pain or shortness of breath, and feeling of impending doom

A person with a phobia will often experience an anxiety attack as a direct result to the hung-up trigger. These anxiety attacks are brief and quickly relieved once the trigger is escaped. In the conditions of chronic anxiety, one anxiety attack can usually turn into another one, leading to a nervous fatigue over a period of days.

An anxiety attack has symptoms that often occur suddenly without any apparent cause. The symptoms can be as follows”

-Pounding heartbeat, generally faster in nature

-Increased sweating

-Dizziness, lightheadedness, nausea

-Difficulty breathing

-Tingling and/or numbness in the face

-Dreamlike sensations or perceptual distortions (de-realization)

-Disassociation, the perception that one is not connected to the body and time.

-Fear of losing control and doing something embarrassing

-Fear of dying

-Feeling of impending doom

-Crying, associated to the above symptoms

Anxiety attack usually last for several minutes and is considered one of the most disturbing condition that anyone can live through in everyday life. The way to understand the different symptoms of anxiety attack is: first, comes the sudden jolt of fear with less or no triggering motivation, and then this will lead to a release of adrenaline (epinephrine), which causes the supposed fight-or-flight response, where the person’s body prepares for major physical activity. This results to an increased heart rate, labored breathing or hyperventilation, and sweating. The diaphragm, involved in the action of the lungs, is also a muscle and it can become overly tight. When there is continuous, inferior anxiety, a person frequently works too hard when breathing. However, if there is hyperanxiety or an anxiety attack, there is overwhelming excitement, and a person may hyperventilate.

Because strenuous activity hardly ever arises, the hyperventilation leads to carbon dioxide levels lowering in the lungs and then the blood, resulting to the shift in the pH of the blood, which will then lead to many of the other symptoms, such as tingling or numbness, dizziness, and lightheadedness.

Anxiety attack is a serious condition, but before you start thinking if you have this condition and go running to see a doctor, stop and take a deep breath! Relax before you start having an anxiety attack, even if you actually don’t have it. Don’t take things too hard for it may lead to something serious and may affect your daily routine. Take things lightly. In any case, if you think you have this condition, the first thing you should do is see a doctor. If you are diagnosed with anxiety attack condition, appropriate medication and good counseling can bring your life to normal again. Otherwise, tell yourself to relax and continue to live your life to the fullest.

Are you searching a remedy for hypernormal underarm sweating? You know, I was in the exact same situation a few years ago, desperately looking for a cure for my sweaty armpits. Abnormal underarm sweating is a difficulty faced by many folks, in most cases in their teenage years.

Most folks seem to think that sweating is the reason of poor hygiene habits. This is not true for everyone, since most people suffer from abnormal sweating due to their genetics. As a result, sufferers of over sweating are not comfortable to to share their trouble, especially with their girlfriend or boyfriends.

It is a great idea to keep your armpits clean regularly, yet don’t overdo it since some of the bacteria might come from the soaps that you implement.

I had checked various methods to get rid of my abnormal underarm sweat problem. They included strong antiperspirants plus deodorants, at the same time my sweating was too severe that they had not noticeable effect. Antiperspirants may be effective enough for mild cases of underarm sweating. It is, still, a method that only serves to keep away the symptoms of sweating temporarily, as well as does not cure the main reason of armpit sweating.

One method that I have used to decrease my underarm sweating substantially is with a natural treatment technique that I learnt three months ago. It had cured my over underarm sweating’s main causes, however required a lot of persistence from my side.

Curing hypernormal sweating has returned my self confidence plus freedom. So, If you are suffering from excessive underarm sweating, you may look to get rid of it momentarily and not let it control your life.

Endocarditis – Causes, Symptoms and Treatment

Definition:

Endocarditis is known as an infection of the endocardial area of the heart, which is an uncommon but not rare disease.The most common structures include are the heart valves. Endocarditis can be describe into two categories are native valve acute & subacute endocarditis,prosthetic valve endocarditis,depending on whether a micro organism is the source of the problem. The organisms streptococci “strep”, staphylococci “staph”, or pneumococci or gonococci or species of bacteria that generally exist on body surfaces are the main source of it. It is mostly caused by bacteria. Rarely, can be caused by fungi or some other kind of organisms.

Endocarditis is an infection of the inner region of the heart or the heart valves produced by bacteria generally found in the intestinal tract or urinary tract and mouth.Endocarditis appears when infectious organisms, such as bacteria or fungi, enter the blood stream and reside in the heart.Whch lead to a serious symptoms that needs prolonged treatment and on occasion causes injury to the heart or even death.

Causes

Some bacteria generally exist on various parts of the body, such as the mouth & upper respiratory system, the intestinal tract or urinary tract, and the skin. Some surgical & dental methods, intravenous drug use, cardiac categorization and other invasive procedures, cuts, bruises and minor surgical procedures result a bacteremia. Bacteremia is common after many incursive procedures, but only some bacteria commonly cause endocarditis.Bacterial endocarditis appears when bacteria in the bloodstream accommodate on abnormal heart valves or other damaged heart tissue.

Once the bacteria infect the inner region of the heart, they keep on to multiply producing large particles called vegetation that may then break off and move to the lungs, brain, kidneys and skin. They go on with a particular infection may also seriously damage the heart valve on which the vegetation’s have developed.

Symptoms

Symptoms of acute endocarditis include such as blood in the urine ,small broken blood vessels on the palms and soles of the feet,cough,red painful nodes in the pads of the fingers & toes ,paleness ,nail abnormalities,abnormal urine color , low appetite.

If severe heart damage results shock, the person may collapse suddenly, have a acute pulse and have pale, cool skin.

Symptoms of endocarditis include such as:

Intermittent low grade fever.

Chills & excessive sweating .

Fatigue .

Body weakness.

Vague aches.

Joint pains.

Severe Back pain.

Heart murmur.

Weight loss.

Shortness of breath on exertion.

Swelling of the feet, legs and abdomen.

Rapid or abnormal heartbeat.

Treatments

High dose antibiotics are usually prescribed for patients at risk for developing endocarditis. A person is most at risk when undergoing those dental or surgical procedures most likely to cause bacteremia with organisms that commonly result endocarditis.

Hospitalization is generally needed initially to administer intravenous antibiotics. Continual antibiotic treatment is required to cure the bacteria from the heart chambers and valves,Typically two to six weeks.

surgery to replace the affected heart valve is generally needed,If heart failure causes as a result of damaged heart valves, or if the infection is breaking off in little pieces, resulting in a series of strokes, or there is evidence of organ damage.

Researchers have discovered a new and potentially successful treatment for victims of the deadly lung cancer known as mesothelioma. The treatment is known as chemoembolization and is being offered at a single German facility only. The treatment was recently administered to its first mesothelioma patient, a woman who developed the condition after hugging her father everyday, who was covered in asbestos fibers because of work.

The woman’s cancer has since gone into remission with her tumor having been reduced by more than half, according to BBC news reports.

The method of chemoembolization uses chemotherapy drugs delivered into the “site of a cancer tumor” and “since the chemotherapy drugs are delivered into the tumor, stronger doses of the drugs may be used,” according to research from the Roswell Park Cancer Institute. For mesothelioma cancer patients, a catheter into the lungs may potentially be used to deliver the drugs to the cancer site. Because of the success of the treatment, research is continuing, according to news reports.

Developing Pleural Mesothelioma

Pleural mesothelioma occurs when mesothelioma of the chest develops. The National Cancer Institute (NCI) recently reported that “the pleura is the membrane that surrounds the lungs and lines the wall of the chest cavity.” According to NCI, mesothelioma occurs once cells within the lining of the lungs, known as the mesothelium begin to metastasize. The American Cancer Society (ACS) reported the following as symptoms of pleural mesothelioma:

* pain in the side of the chest

* pain in the lower back

* trouble swallowing

* cough

* fever

* sweating

* fatigue

* weight loss

* hoarseness

* coughing up blood

* swelling in the face, arms

* muscle weakness

* sensory loss

Often symptoms occur within two to three months prior to an initial diagnosis, according to the ACS. It is common that mesothelioma signs and symptoms remain dormant for several years, usually anywhere from 10 to 30 decades.

A number of tests are in existence to determine if a patient has lung cancer and if it is of mesothelioma type or pleural mesothelioma. Additionally, there are blood tests, fluid and tissue as well as imaging tests, which can determine a mesothelioma diagnosis, according to the ACS; they are as follows:

* chest x-rays

* computed tomography scan

* positron emission tomography scan

* magnetic resonance imaging scan

* osteopontin protein blood tests

* thoracoscopy

* tissue biopsy

* laparoscopy

* thoracotomy

* laparotomy

* bronchoscopy

* mediastinoscopy

* immunohistochemistry

* DNA microarray analysis

What to Do Following a Mesothelioma Diagnosis

Once a mesothelioma diagnosis has occurred, there are several actions that can be taken to potentially treat the deadly condition. Unfortunately, mesothelioma is often untreatable. The NCI sponsors clinical trials, which can assist individuals with their mesothelioma diagnosis by offering potentially new mesothelioma treatments that can be administered and studied.

Excessive sweating is caused by overactive sweat glands, particularly in specific regions for example the feet, under arms, hands, back, groin and face. Unlike regular perspiration, which is used to control your body heat, in people with hyperhidrosis, the sweat glands are over active, not because of external factors such as a hot room, a hot day or exercise, but always.

If your excessive sweating does not occur along with other symptoms, and is not a general, all-over body perspiration, it’s considered primary hyperhidrosis. If your excessive perspiration is accompanied by additional symptoms and you have generalised sweating, then it is termed secondary hyper hidrosis which is usually the result of either drug side effects or an underlying medical condition.

No-one knows for sure what causes excessive sweating, but it’s known that there is over-stimulation of the sympathetic nervous system which results in excess sweat production from the sweat glands. The sympathetic nervous system is the part of the nervous system that isn’t under our conscious control. It is the same part of the nervous system that controls the movement of our digestive tract… it operates without us doing anything to control it.

It is believed that in hyperhidrosis, emotion, anxiety and stress might play active roles, but it’s largely speculation and guesswork because the cause is simply not known.

One interesting clue regarding the cause of hyper hydrosis is that it seems to have a genetic component which indicates that specific genes may be involved. This information was sourced from Medline and is available online for you to verify. There is still extensive laboratory work being done by scientists to try to find the precise cause of hyperhidrosis. Hopefully, by identifying the genes involved, they’ll be able to find out which proteins are responsible, and what they do. Those will be the next steps taken by the scientific community to find a cure for hyperhidrosis.

Excessive sweating treatment, assuming it’s the primary type of hyperhidrosis, are various and complicated. They range from simple use of anti-perspirants and deoderants for manageable hyper hidrosis to surgical intervention involving severing the nerve to the sweat glands, or removing the sweat glands themselves. Cheap home remedies for hyperhidrosis have been found to help many people, especially when many different remedies are used at the same time. It’s a good idea to think about simple, cheap options before expensive surgery or drugs.

While it’s easy to find acne treatments, finding the just the right treatment or treatment product for you is very important. I’ve learned a lot over the years, as a registered nurse, about acne, acne scars, and acne treatments. Natural treatment methods are always a better choice for acne due to less exposure to drugs and chemical-laden acne products, if possible.

Several factors have been suggested to influence acne including diet, menstruation, sweating, UV radiation, stress, and occupation. The most common type of acne is acne vulgaris. Acne is the most common skin disease. Most pimples are found on the face, neck, back, chest, and shoulders. Acne will affect almost every person at some stage of their life.

Understanding that hormones may have some influence on the cause of acne needs to be considered. The cause of acne is really unknown. Doctors think certain factors might cause or contribute to acne including hormone increases in teenage years, hormone changes in pregnancy, starting or stopping birth control pills, heredity, medicines and greasy make-up.

The liver sluffs off toxins from bad foods, drinks, drugs and chemicals and sends them through your skin resulting in skin eruptions, acne, pimples and other skin disorders.

You want to avoid squeezing, pinching, or picking your pimples because it can cause scars or dark spots on the skin. Use coconut oil; it just takes motivation, a willingness to try it, and diligent application of coconut oil several times a day and at bedtime to see its benefits.

Try not to touch your skin to eliminate possible contamination. Shave carefully and try both electric and safety razors to see which works best for you.

Besides acne, if you also have eczema or dry skin, coconut oil will treat those skin conditions too. Choose your makeup carefully, it should be oil free. And never underestimate the healing, restorative power of a good night’s sleep.

Acne scars are an ongoing reminder of a common skin condition that can cause embarrassment and social isolation. See your skin doctor, dermatologist or dermatological surgeon for the best acne scar treatment for you. Healed acne leaves scars in some people however, and it isn’t easy to predict who will end up with scars after an acne outbreak and who won’t.

Besides external acne treatment it’s best to work from the inside out too. People with skin disorders such as acne, rosacea, and psoriasis often suffer from constipation. Some alternative doctors recommend eating raw cloves of garlic daily for acne. Whether you eat a natural diet with living fruits and vegetables or eat dead junk food, what you eat may have a direct or indirect affect on the male hormones which may play a part in acne.

The two most common, sluggish, digestion culprits that affect your skin are not enough water and not enough fiber. Drink plenty of water, a minimum of a quart a day. Good skin is often a reflection of a good digestive system.

Unclean skin favors the development of pathogenic organisms – the dead cells that continually slough off of the epidermis mix with the secretions of the sweat and sebaceous glands and the dust found on the skin to form a filthy layer on its surface. The skin must be regularly cleaned or it’ll become cracked or inflamed.

You should see the results of your acne home treatment remedies with improved skin within just a few days. Pick 2-3 home remedies or natural treatments and try them out on your skin carefully. With cheap, safe, simple, natural, effective, alternative home treatments for acne and pimples, your skin should be well on its way to recovery.

Traditional methods of obesity treatment may not give effective results for most obese people. It is mainly due to their high obesity levels, which can only be reduced with the help of an effective treatment drug such as Acomplia. This drug has helped many people get back to their original healthy body weight.

Acomplia is an oral prescription slimming pill, which is useful for obesity treatment. It is available in the UK and many other European countries on prescription. This anti-obesity drug targets factors which govern the body’s appetite.

Acomplia slimming pills are manufactured by French pharmaceutical company Sanofi-Aventis and contain Rimonabant as the main ingredient. Rimonabant is a selective cannabinoid type I (CB1) receptor blocker.

How does it work?

Acomplia works by producing feelings of fullness among patients and they consequently end up eating less food. It works in the endocannabinoid system, which is largely responsible for affecting energy balance, body weight, glucose and lipid metabolism in the body. During the course of treatment, a patient loses considerable body weight.

Acomplia slimming pills are available in 20mg tablet form. You should take the dosage exactly as per your doctor’s recommendation. The standard dosage is one tablet once a day with a glass of water. The results of weight loss are better when this medication is complemented with regular regimen of physical activity and healthy food intake.

The regular dosages of Acomplia improve HDL levels and triglyceride levels in the body. So Acomplia is also useful for patients who are diabetic or have heart problems. However, it is necessary for such people to tell their doctors about these conditions while doing a consultation.

Side Effects

Like all prescription pills, Acomplia can cause some side effects among users. The most common side effects of Acomplia include nausea, dizziness, diarrhoea, vomiting, hot flushes, skin disorders, mood alterations, and respiratory tract infections.

Acomplia can also cause rare side effects such as night sweating, hiccups, anger and emotional disorder. In the eventuality of any discomfort or trouble due to intake of Acomplia, you should seek immediate medical help.

You should not take Acomplia if you are undergoing any treatment for depression or other psychological problems. Acomplia is not suitable for patients who have reported any suicidal tendencies in the past. However, they can take a medical consultation to check its suitability.

Acomplia has been approved by the European Union for use in many European nations, where doctors are authorised to issue a prescription to patients. With the UK and many countries in Europe fast become obese nations, Acomplia is proving to be a highly useful aid in the treatment of obesity.

Our bodies are designed to sweat in order to try and cool ourselves. It’s a natural defense mechanism against overheating. While that is how our bodies normally function, in some cases you can find yourself sweating excessively above and beyond what is considered normal. This condition is commonly referred to as hyperhydrosis, or excessive sweating.

What causes excessive sweating?

The first question that almost all people have in regards to this issue is, what exactly causes hyperhydrosis? Unfortunately, there is no sure fire answer that anyone can give you. Research is still not completely sure of the causes. It could be caused from a problem with the sweat glands, an issue with the sympathetic nervous system, or a whole host of other issues that can include the following:

-Hyperthyroidism

-Obesity

-Drug or alcohol abuse

-HIV

-Anxiety or nervousness

-Certain foods – Hot and spicy foods in particular

-Certain prescription medications – This is more common than you may think

-Menopause – Another common cause of excessive sweating in women

Regardless of what is behind the reason for excessive sweating, there is help available in curing the problem. It is not a condition that you simply just have to live and put up with.

For most people though, embarrassment often keeps them from getting treatment. There is no doubt that if you suffer with hyperhydrosis, then you can often find yourself frustrated and embarrassed at times, but there are things you can do to help solve this issue. There are many ways of curing hyperhydrosis without having to resort to surgery.
