How can i stop sweating so much?

February 20th, 2010 | by admin |

I sweat more than the average person, i kno i do….i always get wet patches under my arms and i go very red after only a little bit of running…..im not over wieght (the fastest on the team (sorry if it sounds cocky but im giving you the info.) and im quite athletic). Can this sweating be stopped? How? Thanks!

I have this problem but it isn’t to severe for me. You may have hyperhidrosis, which is a condition where you over sweat. Try the roll on deoderant called ‘Certain Dri’(I use it and it works pretty well) or you can get botox injections into your armpits that stop the sweating. To disguise the sweat wear black because it makes sweat stains less visible. Good luck!

really nothing to do about sweating. i know it sux, but it is actually healthy for you. just continue to drink a lot of water so you don’t get dehydrated when you sweat it all out. and when you are out of school you can move to somwhere nice and cold :)

Sweating occurs when the body becomes too hot and needs to cool off. You seem to have a higher than average metabolic rate; hence you sweat a lot. while this is not a problem in most cases, it could sometimes be the result of a medical problem like hyperthyroidism (you need to do a blood test to confirm TSH levels as being too low). Also, if you are always stressed or nervous, you could end up sweating more than average.

apart from using deoderants, the sweating can be lessened by wearing white light cotton clothes that breathe well. Or just fan yourself. However, don’t try to stop it by drinking less water–you will end up with heat stroke

There are stronger deoderants for people that suffer with that particular infliction if you go to a chemist and ask I think its called driclor but there are other similar products they should stock them. I hope it helps

Dear Friend, amount of sweat and also content of sweat is different between individuals. If your palm becomes wet when you are at rest and you have palpitation it would be better to go for a thyroid function check up. don ,t worry it could be normal.

I have been reading about Botox injections into underarms to stop sweating – only very serious cases tho.

The most effective thing is Botox injections underarms- a bit pricey but will dry you out at least for a year or two, in some cases – forever.

If you are in the UK, you can buy a treatment over the counter called Driclor (follow the instructions in the pack).

Simialr preparations in the US & Canada are Drysol or Xerac. I’m not sure whether you may need a prescription – ask your pharmacist.
