What to do to stop my armpits from sweating.?

June 20th, 2010 | by admin |

I’ve tried alum powder, and it only stopped the odor. I still sweat.

I’ve tried Secret Clinical, the same still happened to me.

I’ve tried Secret Scent Expression, and still does the same,

I’ve tried Dove, it still just helps the odor go away, but not the sweat.

What should I do? I can’t stop sweating!

You might have to go see a dermatologist or a doctor or something. If you sweat a lot in your armpits hands or feet you could have some medical condition..if forgot what it was called. i think hyperhydrosis. www.Hyperhidrosis-USA.com

Try Certain Dri, I used all the brands you used with all the same problems.
Buy both the AM version (It’s kind of hard to find…I only know of one Rite Aid in my area that carries it) and the other roll on kind (much easier to find, they have it at Wal Mart).
Use the roll on stuff before you go to bed. The chemicals soak in overnight and help protect you for the next day. This stuff doesn’t smell.
In the morning, use the AM stuff, it’s got a subtle ’shower fresh’ smell to it so that any odor will be covered, and the deodorant will replenish the chemicals to help protect you later in the day.
    Good luck!

You may need to use a prescription-strength antiperspirant. The two most common are Certain Dri and Drysol. The latter is stronger, so I’d recommend starting with Certain Dri. You may be able to find it locally in drug stores, but if not, ask a pharmacist or your doctor to see if they have similar products in stock or if it can be ordered for you. I use this myself, and it stops about 98% of the sweating. I still get some minor sweating sometimes, but nothing that causes me to be unable to go without a sweater or baggy clothes.
Make sure you keep your underarms hairless as well, as the hairs will cause the sweating to be worse, as well as worsen odour. It will take a few weeks to a few months to see noticeable changes, so stick with it. If nothing changes, go up to something stronger, like Drysol.

    Antiperspirants
Heavy sweating can usually be controlled with antiperspirants. However, antiperspirants work
only for a certain length of time. Be guided by the label as to how many times you have to
    apply it.
When applying deodorants, make sure that the underarms are thoroughly dried before
applying the antiperspirant. Dryness enhances the penetration of sweat of the active
    ingredient.
Do not apply an antiperspirant to a freshly shaven skin to avoid irritations. Also, since the
effects of one product may vary from one person to another, try another product if the first
one doesn’t not work for you.
Excessive sweating can be controlled to some degree with commercial antiperspirants.
However, stronger treatment is often needed, especially for the palms, soles, armpits, or
    genital area.
Applying an aluminum chloride solution at night may help—prescription and nonprescription
strengths of this drug are available. A person first dries the sweaty area and then applies
the solution. If the response is inadequate, a plastic film can be applied over the solution to
enhance its effectiveness. In the morning, the person removes the film and washes the area.
If the solution irritates the skin, the plastic film should be left off.
Some people need two applications daily; this regimen usually gives relief in a week. Then an
application once or twice a week is sufficient to maintain relief.

Generally, OTC antiperspirants are used for profuse sweating. The most effective are those that contain aluminium chlorohydrate. But, such preparations may themselves cause irritation. Inflammation and infection can result from the combined effect of shaving and chemicals.

There are also conventional oral medications for controlling sweating, but again unpleasant side effects may occur and they should be used only for extreme cases. These work by drying bodily secretions, and tend to come with unwanted side-effects such as dry mouth, blurry vision, dizziness and cardiovascular concerns. As a last resort, there are surgical procedures to control perspiration, but they are usually reserved for cases resistant to all other form of treatment.
    Natural Remedies

Many people are now turning to natural remedies as a first step towards treating excessive sweating caused by overactive sweat glands. There are a number of natural ingredients that can help reduce sweating and treat some of the underlying causes. Nat mur. helps to reduce excessive sweating and clamminess.

Lupulus as well as Castoreum and Argentum Nitricum help to address sweating, especially when related to nervousness, panic, anxiety, or obsessive thoughts. Lastly the ingredient Syphilinum helps to control fluid levels in the body, while also helping to control body odor which commonly accompanies excessive sweating.
